Beware of Online Fraudsters

In a country like ours, may still find it difficult to carry out online transaction out of no fault of theirs but because of the countless times they have encountered people who go about looking for quick money. This story have been circulating the net for a while and we at 9ja hot deal thought it wise to bring it to your notice.
got this from someone and decided to share it.

Hello folks! As a rejoinder to this, its true u should not just bother trusting most advert you see online, although in my case, mine was with a so called bulk-data seller here, with number 0703 364 6470,i repeat, 0703 364 6470 it's owned by one mr James (he indulges in all sort of things ranging from Recharge card printing, Web design, blog design and anything you can think of even car importation) He claims he can sell you data plans and i came across his advert on a popular Nigeria forum "nairaland". I had sent him the amount of 1500,via mtn cards which he requested for and he promised to start off my subscription within two minutes, minutes going to hours still no sign of any data. Whenever i called him, he will pick up the call and tell you he is working on it. Then after one hour he will stop picking your call. If you ask him to send the data first, he will come up with stories of how his manager doesn't allow him send data before payment. He is a professional 419-ner. After waiting and all, I decided to search him up on whatzapp ,but came up without a hit.
Please, watch for him n not, at least, d recurrent. ..6464...digits, least he scams anyone else.
Have a swell day, guys.
Remember whenever you see a deal too good to be true just run because it is a scam.

Before you do any deal with any data reseller, first and foremost search up for the person on whatzapp, facebook. Or at least get to know their name. Better still you can ask them to send the data first provided you get to pay once you receive the service.

Black Friday In Nigeria, who cares?

With so many advertisement, radio talk shows and social media hype about the forth coming Black Friday. Many people remain indifferent wondering "Wetin be Black Friday sef?" some will say, "if the Friday like make e be yellow sef, e no concern me".
Black Friday in the real sense is a way of providing shoppers with the opportunity to purchase items at a very very discounted price at least for the last time before the Christmas last minute rush when the prices of items are escalated.
This Black Friday which is a very common practice in most developed countries just recently migrated into our Nigerian market, not only has it help make online shopping popular it has always help increase the revenue generated by the online market.

Nigeria's largest online store recently released its report showing how well the Black Friday sale has been since its inception.
In anticipation of the biggest online sale in Nigeria, Yakata (their own name for Black Friday sale) 2015 here is a flashback to the facts and figures of Yakata 2014. The 2014 Yakata Sales promo offered up to 70 per cent savings on select items across categories. Some of the hottest deals available on the site during the period included the Haier Thermocool 3KVA remote control generator which sold at about N49,000 at a discount of almost 60 percent; and the Lenovo A3300 tablet which sold at N17,000 instead of N28,000.

During Yakata 2014, Konga.com recorded sales of more than N600 million while delivering revenue in excess of N200 million for its merchants daily. It was processing sales in excess of N50 million per hour during the peak periods of the two days of the sales promo. The 2014 Yakata Sales registered a record-breaking 1,440 per cent year on year increase in online revenue over its 2013 edition. Also Konga sold 500 per cent more items in the two days of Yakata sales than it did in all of 2012.

These figures however are just a tip of the iceberg of the anticipated Yakata 2015.With the rapid growth of e-commerce in Nigeria in the past year, the 2015 edition Yakata will certainly going to be mind-blowing with unbelievable discounts across fully stocked categories.

When you look at figures like this, you sef go dey wonder wetin u dey use your life do. So it is either you are buying, or selling, or helping people buy and collect small commission for your internet connection abi na or you just dey sit down dey look when people buy finish you go come buy from them as second hand, all join.

This just what Konga has made so far, I wonder what will happen when Jumia release their own report.
Advice: If you are thinking of buying any product just exercise a little patience and purchase it during the Black Friday sale which begins on the 26th of November and ends on the 27th of the same month.

Be Security wise When Shopping Online.

No doubt shopping online is one of the most exciting thing one could ever experience on the internet, having to just sit in the comfort of your house or office, open a website and purchase whatever you want provided you have the money with just a click of the button or a tap of a finger.

While the experience is a cool one it can also turn to a sorrowful one if one do not follow some of the basic online shopping tips.
This isn't to scare you but to put you ahead of the fraudsters who work tirelessly to get hold of ignorant and careless people's bank details online.
Below are some of the online shopping tips, remember this fraudsters may not necessarily come from your country they can be anywhere in the world, it doesn't matter this tips will keep you safe from them all no matter the form they appear to come.

1. Always shop from familiar websites: This is the number one rule of online shopping. Everyone in the world know that for online shopping we can always trust Amazon.com and ebay.com, these were common online stores for almost everyone but luckily for we in Nigeria we too can now turn to site like Konga, Jumia and Kaymu.  This are proven and trusted site so feel safe to shop with them.

2. Look for the lock sign on the address bar: Never ever, ever buy anything online using your credit card from a site that doesn't have SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption installed—at the very least. You'll know if the site has SSL because the URL for the site will start with HTTPS:// (instead of just HTTP://). An icon of a locked padlock will appear, typically in the status bar at the bottom of your web browser, or right next to the URL in the address bar. It depends on your browser.
Never, ever give anyone your credit card over email. Ever.

3. Choose secured payment option: When checking out after filling your cart with all the goodies you have picked for yourself, the next thing to do is to check out meaning you have to choose a payment option. If the selling site does not provide an option for you to pay on delivery think twice before purchasing. And when paying with your master Naira card or Verve card, make sure the web pay page comes up on the screen with a secured security sign.

4. Install a working Anti virus and Internet security malware protector: Swindlers don't just sit around waiting for you to give them data; sometimes they give you a little something extra to help things along. You need to protect against malware with regular updates to your anti-virus program this will help prevent hackers from having access to your information.

5. Avoid shopping using an open internet network: Limit the type of business you conduct over open public Wi-Fi connections, including logging on to key accounts, such as email and banking. Adjust the security settings on your device to limit who can access your phone.  When shopping make sure you are connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network) with security.

Following all these steps will not only make your online shopping experience exciting but will also make it exciting.
